Gerai Makanan dan Minuman Rahamath

I wonder if any of you know this place behind the State Mosque in Ipoh. Its called Gerai Makanan dan Minuman Rahamath. When I was still working in Ipoh, I would frequent this place with my friends and colleagues for lunch. Everything is fresh and lunch is served from 11.30am onwards. The crowd starts to pour in from noon. This is a 'no-frills' restaurant and you might have a bit of a problem getting a place to sit. Most people will pack or tar pau their lunch and head back to office but if you can, try to get a place as its nicer eating there.  I was there a bit late and some of the vege was sold out so I had to make do with the basic stuff.
They don't have many curries like the other restaurants but their best selling and daily menu are dry mutton curry, deep fried chicken, fried chicken in chilly(ayam masak merah), fried fish and cabbage with kunyit. The main dishes are laid out on the table and customers will choose the chicken or fish of their choice or mutton and the guy serving you will dish out the cabbage and cucumber salad on your plate of rice and pour the curry gravy on it. You can have it there if there's a vacant seat or choose to pack it home.

When you arrive at this place, you will normally find a queue right up to the road beside the gerai. Have patience and wait your turn to be served. The lunch goes well with a cold Iced Syrup or any drink of your choice.
