Tex-Mex at Las Caretas again.

I had previously blogged about this place before and took some pics of the place but that was during lunch and the lighting was not suitable for taking good pics. This time, we went for dinner and the lighting was just perfect and I managed to capture some shots of the place and food.
We arrived at Las Caretas at dinnertime and were ushered to our favourite table. My nephew is a regular here and the staff knew what he liked. We ordered our drinks and the starters came almost immediately. It was Nachos with dipping sauce and my nephew requested some Jalapenos to add on to the dip for the extra 'kick'. Next came our main dishes like Fajitas c/w sizzling chicken and tortillas amd also Chili Con Carne which is stewed minced beef with kidney beans and served with Mexican rice.

Dinner was awesome and we also ordered a serving of fiery Habaneros for the extra punch. Next, we had dessert which was Chimichanga, a pair of deep fried burritos with apple stuffing served with ice cream and cream topping.

It is a perfect place for dining especially if you are into Tex-Mex cuisine and conveniently located in Jalan Semantan, Damansara Heights. It has become one of my favourite dining places for Tex-Mex food.

Lunch at a stall in Lucky Garden, Bangsar.

I was in Lucky Garden the other day and having heard of some interesting places for food there, I decided to give it a try. I parked my car near TMC supermarket and walked over to the row of stalls behind it. This row of stalls is well known for its good food and very reasonable prices. The first stall was very crowded with two rows of people lining up in queue to order their food. The tables were all occupied with hungry diners tucking in to their delicious lunch. It was a hot day and I was not keen to queue up for my lunch, I walked over to survey the other stalls along this row.
There was a stall just a few steps away and I saw the wide array of dishes on display and also there were vacant tables. 'OK, I'm gonna try this stall' I said to myself. The owner of this stall was a very pleasant man, speaking perfect English, manning the stall with his wife and daughter. He served me a plate of rice and I proceeded to scoop up the dishes that I fancied.

Chicken Varuval

I must say the chicken varuval was awesome, likewise with the vege that I took. It cost only 6 bucks excluding drink which I thought was very reasonable. After lunch I had a chat with the owner and he told me that he has not put up a banner with the name of his stall yet. The name he intended to put up was 'Durgas' so it probably will be up the next time I went again.
The owner of the stall, real friendly guy.

This is the stall.

This is one place I will definitely come again and I was told there is a stall next door that opens from 3pm selling sweet apom which is really good. Hmmm!!! That sounds interesting. I will have to come back here sooner to sample that.
