Restaurant Nepal - Himalayan Cuisine. I heard about this place from blogs and also from friends. They were raving about the food here so I decided to give this place a try. It is situated just opposite TGIF. We went there the other early at around 6.30pm and were the first customers so we could choose the table of our choice. Service was very prompt and we were served by a very friendly girl. Going through their menu, we settled for a few of their popular dishes. Nepalese food is influenced by Chinese, Indian and Nepalese preparation and cooking so it would be interesting to try it.
A view of the restaurant
Part of their menu. They have quite
a wide sellection to choose from.
Its called Shangrila. A drink similar to
Sangria with red wine, fruit juice and
apple slices. Very refreshing.
A closer look at the Shangrila or Sangria.
Deep fried Momo. They have it deep fried
or steamed. The latter is similar to the
Chinese 'Siew Loong Pau'
Chili Chicken marinated in spices,
stir fried with onions, capsicum.
Aloo Silam - a potato dish. I love the spices
with the potatoes.
This is called Chatta Mari - almost like a
pizza. Goes well with the sauces provided.
Mutton Bone Marrow cooked in
a pumpkin curry. If you love mutton,
this is the dish for you.
We were recommended this dish. Ghee rice.
Looks like fried rice but with ghee which is flavourful.
After dinner, were served a complimentary dessert called Sewai, made with vermicelli and coconut cream. It was very nice as I love sweet desserts. It is almost like the Indian Payasam which is also my favourite. We were all very happy with our meal and perhaps come back again to try other dishes.
