CocaCabana

Her name is Lola but not a showgirl!.......... Nope! This is an Indian restaurant near my place. As you can see from the pics, there is a wide variety of vegetarian dishes to choose from besides the meat dishes. I personally like Indian vegetarian food and this place has it all.

I brought my nephew there one day and he loved it. He found everything looking so good that he piled his plate with mutton curry (his favourite), chicken varuval, omelette and two choices of vege. Another thing that is a favourite at this place is their fish cutlets and chickpeas with potatoes. This is a 'must have' for me. This place is very crowded at lunchtime so it will be perfect to be there just before then as everything is very fresh.

This restaurant is located just opposite the Stadec showroom in Jln. Segambut and parking is relatively easy as you can park inside the Stadec compound and while you are there, take a stroll inside Stadec and maybe you could pick up something you like in their various showrooms.

Hi Joseph, apologies for contacting you via your blog, however, I am tracing our family tree and believe we are related.

I saw a comment of yours regarding your Aunt who was a pianist in Klian Pauh? If I am correct, that would be Jessica Wong, who would be my grand aunt-my grandfather was Thomas Chong.

We have some fantastic photos of the family from my great grandfather's era (who I believe is your grandfather) and it would also be great to ask you questions about the family?

My father also lived with Jessica's family (his aunt) at the house on Race Course road for a few years in the '50s.

I hope this is would be ok?

Best regards,

Daisy

Hi Joe,

Thanks for your response. My email is daisyluise@gmail.com, so feel free to contact me there.

It would be wonderful to piece together your recollections of the family with ours and also share the photos we have with you.

As I understand it, Thomas' family was of Peranakan and Dutch descent, but the details we can are limited.

I have also found a very interesting article on my great-grandfather (who I believe is your grandfather), which I am more than happy to share.

Best regards,

Daisy
